Christine & Graham's Bilingua Wedding at Glencanisp, Assynt
Some couples choose a venue. Christine and Graham chose a view. When we first talked about where their wedding should take place, it quickly became clear that it had to be Glencanisp, with that perfectly framed view of Suilven behind them: the mountain that was part of their story before they even met, and a place that made it easy to bring family and friends together in one truly spectacular spot.
Their guests had travelled from near and far (the North-West Highlands are not exactly on the way to anywhere), and the effort showed in the best possible way. To honour this German-Scottish union, we had kilts, Lederhosen and Dirndl all gathered in Assynt, and the ceremony itself was bilingual, weaving between English and German so that everyone could feel part of it.

It was a lovely afternoon in early May, and the weather gods were firmly on our side. Suilven stood witness in the sunshine, as if it had always known it would be there for this moment.
Christine and Graham's story is not one of fireworks and drama, but of a connection that clicked quietly into place from their very first conversation, which turned, of course, to Assynt and Suilven. Theirs is the kind of love a cycling friend once described to Graham: when you've met the right person, everything becomes effortless. That sense of flow, of finding your rhythm together through every climb, ran through the whole ceremony, including a delightful cycling poem read by Elsie.
They exchanged deeply personal vows, promising to love, respect and stand by one another wherever their journey together may take them, sealed their promises with rings, and, in true Scottish fashion, shared their first drink as husband and wife from a quaich. With a tune played by Lexie and champagne for all, the celebrations were off to a flying start.
It was a ceremony full of warmth, laughter and genuine emotion, in a place that means the world to both of them. Thank you, Christine and Graham, for letting me be part of such a special day. May every mile ahead be filled with fun.
