Lydia & Daniel celebrated their micro wedding at the wonderful Eagle Rock Lodge in Applecross. The wedding of Lorraine & Tomas next to the Salmon Bothy at Clachtoll was a joyous celebration of the joining of two people, two families, and two cultures – Scotland & Lithuania. Chris’ childhood memories of wonderful family holidays in Assynt made Achmelvich Beach a perfect choice for his wedding to Rico. This British/American couple living in NZL gathered with British family for a relaxed and cheerful ceremony on the beach, followed by champagne, cake & pies, and a swim in the sea. Who needs chairs when the ancient rocks of Assynt offer the perfect seating!
Bethany & Marijn’s wedding in the North-West Highlands was a beautiful, love-filled celebration. With heartfelt vows, a touching handfasting, and a special quaich ritual, their day was full of meaning. Lynn and Malcolm’s wedding at Ceannabeinne Beach was a heartfelt and intimate celebration, set against breathtaking Highland scenery. With meaningful readings, a Celtic oathing stone ritual, and stunning geological backdrops, their ceremony was deeply personal. A gentle breeze carried their vows, and the day came together perfectly, making for a truly special and memorable occasion.
When Bex & Ali got married in their favourite woodland close to their home, with their twin boys, their dog Millie and close family and friends it was a reminder what should be at the heart of a ceremony – love, joy, mutual support and fun! There are possibly fairies in this enchanted oak forest and the bride definitely looked like a fairy! A true summer fairytale wedding.
For their spring wedding ceremony Rhona & Calum returned with their family & close friends to the location of their engagement at Achmelvich. With a backdrop of white sand and turquoise sea they looked back on their travels together, and looked forward to their future as a married couple – a beautiful Highland beach ceremony for a lovely bride & groom.
This year, I had the privilege of conducting my first bilingual ceremony for Ellie and Steven at the beautiful Tullibole Castle. With many German guests who didn’t speak English, it was essential to include both languages for a relaxed and fully inclusive experience. Seeing their joy and connection made the day truly unforgettable, blending cultures in a unique and emotional way.
What better way to express your love for your wife to be than follow her for a beach elopement to a place in the Highlands she fell in love with, but you’ve never been to! That’s how Lauren & Lee found themselves on a windy but dry Highland beach in October. Rarely did a couple glow so much with love and joy than those two – who needs bright sunshine when love shines so brightly!
Like many couples who chose the Highlands for an elopement Tina & Patrick had fond holiday memories of Clachtoll beach and this made it the perfect location for their small ceremony. This lovely couple from the US took the opportunity of a Scotland tour to have a vow renewal ceremony on the shores of Loch Ness. A wonderful opportunity to not only celebrate their love and history but also look into the future, incorporating an oathing stone ritual and drinking from a quaich. Chris’ ancestors being Scottish meant we could also honour his family roots.
After numerous delays, Silke and Sven from Germany finally celebrated their dream Isle of Skye wedding on a warm and beautiful May afternoon! 25 years after their wedding a lovely American couple came to tour the Highlands of Scotland and renewing their vows was part of their wonderful Scottish experience. Clachtoll is April & Robin’s favourite holiday destination and it was the place where they came for their first holiday together – so what better location for a small spring wedding with close family, both local friends & friends from further afield. What better place for Emily & Rob’s wedding ceremony than their own home, a converted 17th century church, built on a Pictish settlement in Aberdeenshire. A beautiful handfasting ceremony for a couple from Canada who came to Scotland to honour their ancestors.
