what  better reason for having a ceremony than celebrating love! It is a great privilege for me to support couples in creating and experiencing such ceremonies in Scotland.  I offer a variety of ceremonies to suit all occasions, including legal weddings and civil partnership ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, vow renewals and handfasting ceremonies.

At the heart of the ceremonies I offer are personal and hand crafted wedding ceremonies for couples wanting to ‘tie the knot’ in the beautiful Scottish Highlands & other parts of Scotland. All ceremonies have the couple at the very centre  – their wishes, dreams, ideas and personal style.  Some love it small & personal, others big & bold, some love it simple & others will look for a ceremony rich in rituals and symbols. My passion is to turn YOUR wishes into a memorable occasion!

As a couple you may not be looking for the legal recognition of your relationship but still want to celebrate your commitment to each other with a special ceremony. Maybe you’d like to just focus on you as a couple, or maybe you are looking to share the joy with a wider group of friends & family. Whatever your preference, I’ll be happy to explore with you how to turn your very personal ideas and hopes into a meaningful ceremony.

rituals & symbols

from traditional wedding rings, to candlefrom traditional wedding rings, to candles, sand, flowers, handfasting or quaich – to name but a few – I look forward to creating ceremonies that include rituals and symbols that reflect a couple’s personal preferences, their story, traditions and beliefs. for me the art of incorporating these elements into a ceremony is finding those that have real meaning for a couple, fit the surroundings and create unforgettable memories.

There are many reasons for renewing vows – maybe to celebrate an anniversary, or to honour how far you have travelled and where you have come to as a couple, or to mark the occasion of entering a new stage in your relationship.  Ceremonies can be as small as just a few heartfelt words to each other or as big as you wish them to be. Let me support you in making it a day to remember!

A celtic handfasting ritual can be part of any ceremony or if you have a particular affinity with celtic traditions it can be at the very heart of your ceremony. I am happy to offer very personal handfasting ceremonies  that incorporate the style of hand tying ritual you are drawn to, maybe honoring your own celtic heritage or you can opt for a simpler version, ideal for vow renewals or a simple nature centred commitment.

creative, alternative or traditional

some couples prefer their ceremony to be traditonal, whilst others will want to be creative and very different. I am very happy to support personal choices and explore unusual ideas, whether it’s the location, time of the day, choice of readings or rituals.

Sometimes a small & personal ceremony is what a couple is longing for most, and the Highlands of Scotland offer the perfect location if you want to keep it small and intimate, maybe just as a couple, or with close friends and family. I’ll be delighted to work with you on a personal ceremony, held outdoors or indoors in Scotland.

As a great lover of the outdoors myself a ceremony set amidst our atmospheric landscape – a beach, among the mountains, on the shore of a loch or wherever takes your fancy – holds special meaning for me. Get in touch with your ideas and I will be happy to support you in making some outdoor ceremony magic happen!

all faiths and none

as an Interfaith Minister I am able to work with couples of all faiths and none to create the ceremony that’s perfect for them. the personal preferences of the couple are essential and whether it’s about incorporating select elements from their own faith(s), honoring the beliefs and traditions of the wider family or opting for a person centred humanist ceremony – everything is possible!

As an Interfaith minister supporting couples who want to recognise their different faiths during their wedding day is both a privilege and a calling for me. My knowledge of many different religions and spiritual paths enables me to work with you and your wider families on creating a ceremony that honours all traditions and incorporates readings and rituals with skill and sensitivity .

I believe that a ceremony should reflect who the partners truly are & in today’s multi-cultural and diverse world this often means people from different backgrounds and cultures are coming together in love. I love creating ceremonies that honour and celebrate this diversity and which beautifully unite different cultures to reflect  a couple’s personality and their wishes.

handcrafted & personal

all the ceremonies for love are tailored to a couple, their personal story, and their personal preferences. some couples will want a ceremony rich in elements, whilst others prefer simple. my ethos is that I will explore all of these wishes by truly listening and honouring them as I create your very special occasion

At the centre of all the ceremonies of love on offer is union, and fortunately in Scotland same sex unions are equal in the eyes of the law. I’m immensely proud that we have achieved this equality and it’s therefore a real privilege to work with you on creating a ceremony that has your equality, respect and love at the very centre. Get in touch to explore how to make your very personal Highland ceremony of love happen!

Since 2021 Civil Partnership is an option for both same sex and opposite sex couples in Scotland. It is formed by signing a civil partnership document and I am happy to work with you on creating a meaningful & memorable ceremony for this event. Whilst being different from a marriage ceremony there are lots of options to make it truly memorable and personal, matching your style & preferences.

I am based near Lochinver in Assynt, in the North-West Highlands and deeply connected to the landscape where I live and always enjoy ceremonies in my region, from as South as Gairloch and the coast North to Corrieshalloch Gorge and Ullapool, then up the coast via Achiltibuie, Achmelvich, Clachtoll and Kylesku, all the way up North via Scourie, Kinlochbervie and Sandwood Bay to Durness. or in the heart of the North-West around Rosehall, Lairg & Bonar Bridge and towards the East coast. I’m very happy to travel further though and also frequently conduct weddings near Inverness, along the Moray Coast and Aberdeenshire, and as far as the the Outer Hebrides on the Isles of Lewis and Harris (I’m not far from the ferry to Stornoway) and Orkney, and sometimes other parts of Scotland. whether you are local to Wester Ross, Easter Ross, Sutherland, Caithness or beyond, a visitor or NC500 traveller – if you are looking for a very special destination to mark an occasion please get in touch. for ashes ceremonies I also offer support remotely  …
